Event Description:

Round one - Commercial - three minutes to look over commercial script the. Read to judge as if you’re selling a product. Eye contact not required. Student leaves prompt in room. Called in one at a time from the hall.

Round two - Student prepared news copy. One copy for the judge as well. Must be three minutes long, with 15 second grace either side. Students are called in from hall one at a time and may leave after.

Round three - Breaking News - like commercial round, student gets a breaking news story and all get the same prompt. 3 minutes to prep, then read like a breaking news item in a newscast. Prompt is left in room when finished.

FINALS

student is given a packet and has 30 minutes to prepare a 5 minute broadcast complete with transitions, intro and sign off. 15 second grace either way.
