Event Description:

Policy Debate, also known as Cross-Examination Debate, consists of two-person teams using the 8-3-5 switch side format debating issues of policy under the national resolution. The 2017-18 national resolution will be used. NFL rules apply. A few highlighted rules include:

  • Each team must consist of two debaters from the same school.
  • Each team will be alloted 5 minutes of Prep Time each round.
  • Electronic storage/retrieval devices (laptops, tablets, phones) are permitted but Internet connectivity and messaging is not permitted during the round.
