Event Description:
Middle School Oratory/Informative General Judging Instructions
- This is a speech that is created, written, and memorized by the contestant.
- Presentation shall be from memory. No costumes are allowed; visual aids may be used but are not required.
- Movement and gestures are allowed. No more than 150 words of quoted or paraphrased material may be used.
- Time limit is 10 minutes; although, speech may range from 5 to 10 minutes. There is a 30 second grace period either way. Penalty for not meeting time or going over time determined by judge’s discretion.
