Event Description:
Prose—(PR) This is to be a reading of one or more prose selections of not more than seven minutes in length, including a brief introduction. Content: material should be appropriate to the student and audience, and worthy of study and be from a published work of literature. Delivery: the performer should use voice and facial expressions (and to a lesser extent, body) to bring flesh to the emotional content of the selection(s). Usually speakers will use different voices and physicalization if the selection(s) has more than one character. With the exception of the introduction, the performer should read the selection, and not have it memorized.
