Dear Congressional Debate Coaches,

I would like to inform you that the 2016 Cal Congressional Debate packet is now available on our Twitter handle, @Cal_Congress, and at the following link: goo.gl/HMFWPa.

Because we desire to run the best possible Congressional Debate at the Cal Invitational, we strive to align our procedures with NSDA and TOC rules and procedures as much as possible. Hence, this year, we would like to provide Parliamentarians in all rounds of competition.

"It takes a village" to achieve this goal, and we need your help. All schools will be required to designate a qualified adult to serve as a Parliamentarian. This individual will count towards your judging commitment for Congressional Debate (one judge/parliamentarian is required for every 5 entries). Designated parliamentarians are required to attend a mandatory training at 12:15PM in Dwinelle Hall (the specific room will be announced closer to the date). The commitment for parliamentarians will be 9 hours total for both Saturday and Sunday (3 prelim rounds of 3 hours each between the two days).

Please fill out the following Google Form (http://goo.gl/forms/RZzAZdVRJR) for each judge and/or parliamentarian by February 7th.

We appreciate your shared dedication to providing the best experience for our Congressional Debaters! Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks in advance!

Jega Vigneshwaran & Kristen Plant
