Thank you so much for your timely submissions. There was a ton of legislation this year! So, while it was a lengthy process, your use of the templates made the compilation of this document, which can be found on yale.tabroom.com under 2014 Yale legislation as well as on the front-page announcement, relatively painless.
Please note that within the packet, you will find chamber assignments and matching legislation. For example, all legislation that is in the 100s is designated for Chamber 1. What is not included at the moment is information in regards to room locations as well as semi final and final round legislation. We will have these posted no later than.
For those of you who missed thedeadline last and were told that your legislation was rejected, please understand that this task is an enormous undertaking and it cannot be completed until all legislation has been submitted and culled. The choice between accepting late legislation and non-mergable legislation, is the choice between releasing chamber assignments early or just giving the students every single piece of legislation to prepare.
Our tab room philosophy has always been that we make decisions in the best of the greater good. Giving students the opportunity to begin their preparation as soon as possible is essential to a healthy debate. This is especially true for small squads as they would feel the enormous burden of having to prep over sixty pieces of legislation otherwise. Thus, we apologize if this decision inconvenienced you and your students, however, we feel that there is still a healthy amount of legislation to debate in order to be a pedagogically sound experience for the students.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you next weekend. Happy prepping.-----------------------------
