Good Evening Southern MN NSDA Coaches,

Hard to believe but we are now down to the final in-state weekend of high school debate. Congratulations to all of the schools and teams that did well this past weekend at the 119th MSHSL State Debate Tournament. Time for one more rigorous testing of arguments and positions.

Due to my health issues I will be handing of the running of this year's district tournament to Cort Sylvester and DJ Brynteson along with Yatesh Singh, and Deserea Niemann. Scott Sieling will be down with his team at the Marshall Speech Spectacular. All communications about any entry changes should go through both Cort and DJ. You have until Wednesday to make partner changes or make drops. At this point there should be no adds to the tournament. Right now we have 27 LD entries, 19 Policy entries and 24 PF entries. We also have 7 Big Question entries. Since BQ remains as a sponsored event and only qualifies one person to the national tournament we will allow any students eliminated on Friday from one of the main pool debate events to enter Big Question. We need to get to 10 competitors in order to hold a qualifying tournament in BQ. BQ will run on Saturday only but will also use the same double down and out format used in the other 3 debate events until we are down to our champion. Please consider entering a student into Big Question.

Richard Brynteson:

All entry changes as spelled out above as well as any judge changes should be emailed to Cort and DJ. I have provided their email addresses for you.

All entry fee checks should be made payable to the Minnesota Debate Teachers Association. The mailing address information is below.
