Just a few reminders as we launch this edition of the Barkley Forum LD Division that we are dedicated with passion and intensity to the principle that I will not be here until 1 in the freaking morning dealing with the double octos rounds tomorrow evening.

So to that end, so we can be respectful to the entire tournament's need for health, wellness and getting home, I just want to highlight the following items that we will be startlingly uncompromising on.

1. GET TO YOUR ROUNDS ON TIME. LDers should be there AT THE START TIME of the round. Flight 2 debaters should be IN THE ROOM SIXTY MINUTES after the posted round start time, even if the Flight 1 debate is still going. We have a real fast trigger on the forfeits and will definitely not look kindly on people who run and hide to steal extra prep.

2. JUDGES, please get to your rooms ready to go as well. If judges are routinely running late we might just forfeit your debaters from the rounds.

3. JUDGES ALSO: We do not know your rounds have started until you hit the START ROUND button in Tabroom. Please do so.

4. JUDGES YET A THIRD TIME: 70 minute decision deadline applies to each flight from the POSTED START of the debate. Even if your round gets started late, that's on the debaters, not on the tournament. We need your ballot in, and your flight 2 to start on time. If you have a lot of feedback and you're up against the Flight 2 start, please cut your verbal critique short and provide written feedback later.

5. Don't screw up. You know what I mean.

Do all these and we'll all have a lovely weekend.

Thanks!

Palmer, LD Tab.
