A Bill to Designate the Sawtooth Mountains as a

National Conservation Area

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1   The Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho area shall be designated as a National Conservation Area, and afforded the protections therein. Hunting and other protections for National Conservation Areas shall be be enforced within the land.

SECTION 2   The Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho refers to an area of about 750,000 acres of public lands that is currently referred to as the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.

SECTION 3   The Department of the Interior will oversee the preservation and use of this land.

SECTION 4   This will take effect upon passage.  All hunting on this land must cease by January 1, 2020, or violations shall be fined up to $100,000. 

SECTION 5   All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
