These are the same reminders as I sent on 11-26, but we have had many more schools enter since then, so if you've already seen these, I apologize. If you have not seen these, please read them carefully. Thank you!
We are looking forward to hosting you at the UNLV campus in fabulous Las Vegas for the 2019 Golden Desert High School Debate Tournament. We have a few important reminders for you...
1. Teams are not cleared off the waitlist until entry fees have been received.
Please see your Tabroom.com invoice to determine the total fees that your team owes. We can accept payment via check or credit card. To pay by credit card, click on the "credit card authorization form to pay" link at: http://goldendesertunlv.tabroom.com Download the form, fill it out, and send it back via fax or email. If you fax the form back, make sure to send me an email saying that you did so, as our fax machine is occasionally unreliable.
To pay by check, please make all checks payable to: “Board of Regents, UNLV.” Checks must be mailed to:
c/o Dr. Jacob Thompson
Dept. Comm. Studies, UNLV
4505 S. Maryland Pkwy
Las Vegas, NV 89154-4052
UNLV’s federal tax ID number is 88-6000024. An updated version of UNLV's W-9 form is also available at: http://goldendesertunlv.tabroom.com
2. Please make your reservations at our tournament hotels.
We currently have blocks at two hotel properties. All of the hotel information is located in the tournament invitation and at the "HOTEL INFO" link on http://goldendesertunlv.tabroom.com
It is important to the continued viability of our tournament that teams attending reserve rooms where we have set up blocks. The tournament's Monday elimination rounds will be held at the Springhill Suites. Teams who choose to not stay at a tournament hotel will incur a $200 team fee.
3. Please begin finalizing your team entries and judging.
We cannot admit teams that are named "TBA," so please add debaters names in order to get them removed from the waitlist once their entry fees are paid.
4. We have added a Congressional Debate division!!!
The Golden Desert Debate tournament now features Policy, LD, PF, and Congressional Debate. We hope that our new Congress division will be well attended in 2019 and that it will receive a TOC bid in 2020. Please consider entering a few debaters in this new division.
We are excited to host you all again this February in fabulous Las Vegas. If you have any questions, please contact me directly.
