Big Questions Invitational

Feburary 28-29

A Big Questions Debate Tournament will be held concurrently to the state tournament, during Speech 2 and Speech 3 rounds on Friday the 28th, and during Speech 4 and Speech Semis rounds on Saturday the 29th.

Registration for this tournament will go through the same tabroom page as the state tournament.

Payment for this tournament will be lumped in to your state fees: cut NMSDA a check for all events, including BQ.

Registration deadlines, drop deadlines, drop fees, etc apply to BQ as they apply to other state events.

Any eligible student may enter Big Questions, with one exception: students participating in extemp may not register for BQ. Students doing two non-extemp speech events, and/or doing another debate event may enter BQ as a 4th event during the tournament. Students who are not participating in other state events may enter BQ as their sole event that weekend.

Individuals may compete, but NO partnerships may compete in BQ.

Schools may enter an unlimited number of students into BQ.

Three BQ prelim rounds will happen during speech prelims; out-rounds will be scheduled as time and space permit.

The State Champion in BQ will qualify for the NSDA National Tournament provided they are eligible for that competition.
