Event Details

LINCOLN-DOUGLAS DEBATE:  We will have a Novice Division and a Varsity Division.  They will both use the Varsity Topic. There is no limit on the amount of entries allowed.  Double entries are not permitted. We will use the September/October topic: Resolved: In the United States, colleges and universities ought not consider standardized tests in undergraduate admissions decisions.

PUBLIC FORUM: We will have a Novice Division and a Varsity Division.  There is no limit on the number of entries. Double entries are not permitted.  We will use the September/October topic: Resolved: The European Union should join the Belt and Road Initiative.

INDIVIDUAL EVENTS  There is no limit on the amount of entries allowed.  Students may double enter but triple entries are not permitted.  One note card may be used in extemporaneous and the preparation time will be 30 minutes. 

IEs will run using a patterns system (please closely review our schedule). Using this system, a speech student could participate in up to four IE events! However, please note, no double entry will be allowed in pattern B if a student participates in BQD due to time constraints.

Safe Space:

The tournament reserves the right to disqualify any participants that are deemed to engage in behavior that undermines the ability of all competitors to feel safe at the tournament.
