Coaches,

This letter should serve to provide all of the information you need to register and compete in our congressional debate qualifier. 

Congress Qualifiers:

1.       Our District Congressional Debate Qualifier will be held at Salina South High School on Friday March 2nd ONLY.

a.       Cost per entry is $10.00 per Student.

b.      You are limited on entries to 2 students in the Senate and a Portion of Students in the House based off of your memberships and degrees. You can find out this information by logging into www.speechanddebate.org and clicking on the district information tab on the left hand side of the control panel.

c.       Entry should be available on www.tabroom.com early next week. I will also attach legislation packets to the site.

d.      We are switching Judges with Flint Hills District on Friday.

e.       You will need a Head Coach, or a Qualified Assistant Coach to Score Congress that day.

g.       Reminder students must be a NSDA member 7 days in advance of the tournament to enter.

h.      Deadline for Registration is Friday February 23rd at 5 p.m.

A few other important reminders: Our number of qualifiers is based off of participation. We must have 8 schools represented in the Senate to qualify 2 to nationals. 30-60 in House Qualifies 2 to nationals. 61-90 Qualifies 3.

 

Please consider participating to help the district. Students must give one speech to count. It can be short. This qualifier is also a freebie qualifier it doesn’t limit your participation in other events. 

As most of you are aware the district qualifying tournament approaching. Please review the following information carefully to ensure a smooth and successful tournament. Remember, the total number of entries afforded each school is based on the total number of degrees and memberships your chapter has attained. You may also view this information in a handy chart on the NSDA website. Log into www.speechanddebate.org , go to your account profile, and click the district information tab. At the bottom is a chart that shows how many entries you may have.
