Dear Speechies and Debaters:

BHS would like to invite you our Winter Student Congress. We hope that you will be able to attend one of the first congresses of the school year.

The tournament will start at 4pm and we expect to wrap up by 8pm. There will be two sessions for maximum speaking times with a break for dinner in between. We have vending machines for drinks and snacks, but students should bring their own dinner or money to get dinner on their own. Dairy Queen is down the street, a coffee house 2 blocks away (Ava) and there is a Vietnamese sandwich shop across the street.

Requirements:
We require each team to bring one judge.
The fee for a student to attend will be $5.
Please have your students submit at least one bill or resolution to speak on. Bring copies to distribute to the members of your session (approximately 20 copies).
Registration deadline is January 12, Friday. Please identify your novices.

Awards:
Medals will be given to first, second and third speakers in each house, along with a medal to the outstanding chairs.

We will have yummy snacks and lite dinner for those who come to judge.

Directions to the school can be found on Mapquest or Google Maps. Registration and Judges Lounge will be in room 110.
