A Bill to Reinstate the Fairness Doctrine

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1.  The Fairness Doctrine will be re-implemented by the FCC as a governing policy.

SECTION 2.  The Fairness Doctrine shall be defined as the policy abolished by the FCC in 1987 that was primarily concerned with the news media providing a variety of viewpoints on any given topic.

SECTION 3.  The FCC will oversee implementation of this legislation.

A. Any necessary funding will be drawn from the budget of the FCC.

SECTION 4.  This legislation will go into effect three months after passage.

 

SECTION 5.  All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

 

A Bill to Eliminate Private Election Funding

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:

SECTION 1. Candidates for President, Vice President, Senate or House of representatives, in the state and national level shall only use publicly allocated funds to run campaigns.

SECTION 2. Candidates are no longer allowed to opt out of the federal campaign fund.

SECTION 3. The Federal Election Committee shall oversee the implementation of this bill.

SECTION 4. This bill will take effect as of January 1st, 2017.

SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.

 

A Resolution to Recognize Iraqi Kurdish Independence  

WHEREAS, On September 25, the Iraqi Kurdish people voted overwhelmingly in favor of independence; and 

WHEREAS, The Iraqi Kurdish military, known as the Peshmerga, have been invaluable in the fight against ISIS; and 

WHEREAS, The United States ought to be committed to upholding the principles of democracy and self-determination; and 

WHEREAS, An independent Iraqi Kurdistan would provide the United States with 

another key strategic ally in the Middle East; now, therefore, be it 

RESOLVED, That the Congress here assembled formally recognizes the independence 

of Iraqi Kurdistan in accordance with the September 25 referendum.
