The Friends of Valley Debate is the parent booster organization of the Valley Debate Team and is a subsidiary of the West Des Moines Community Schools Foundation.

Dear debate colleagues, 

You are cordially invited to the Mid-America Cup, to be held at Valley High School and Valley Southwoods Freshman High School. Registration will occur at the West Des Moines Marriott on Friday evening, September 22. Preliminary rounds will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 23 and 24. Elimination rounds (from quarters on) will take place at the West Des Moines Marriott on Monday, September 25. See the tentative schedule for details. 

•   The Mid-America Cup is an octafinals bid to the TOC in LD debate.

•    We are also a semifinals bid to the TOC in Policy and Public Forum debate.

As always, the Valley Mid-America Cup will offer top-notch competition in varsity policy, Lincoln-Douglas, and public forum debate. We are pleased to announce that:

- We are holding the fifth annual Varsity LD Round Robin, in addition to our seventh annual Sophomore Throw-Down. This year, we are inaugurating our Public Forum Round Robin. 

- We will continue classic Mid-America Cup Awards, including the Giant Mallets for top speakers.
