Dear Coaches and Forensic Squads,

     The Silver Lake High School Forensics team invites you to attend the Silver Lake Invitational Forensics Tournament on February 23rd and February 24th, 2018. We will be hosting student congress, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and Public Forum Debate on Friday, February 23rf; and individual events will be held on Saturday, February 24th. We will award medals for first through sixth places in all events and sweepstakes trophies for first, second, and third place. LD and PFD ranks will be assigned according to record; finals will not be held. Fees are $5.00 per person per event and $10.00 per duet/due team/IDA team unless you charge more for your tournament, in which case I expect reciprocal payment.

     The following events will be offered on Saturday: Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Prose, Poetry, Informative Speaking, Original Oratory, Domestic Extemp, International Extemp, Duet Acting, Duo Interp, IDA (only if there are 3A or below schools entered, we will NOT host this event if we do not need to), and Impromptu.

     You may enter as many as you like in each event up to 4; how4ever, only the top 2 in each event will count towards Sweepstakes. Sweeps will on count preliminary rounds. Entries will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you would like extras I will grant those to people who have given them to me and My NSDA and MELK league members first.

     Students who enter LD and PFD will not count towards Sweeps.

     Students may only triple enter in Impromptu. Participants may not double enter in two prep events, and if doubling in Duo and Duet, you must have separate pieces.

     Extemp topics will come from recent magazine and newspaper articles, starting December 1st.

     REGISTRATION will be via Tabroom.com.  Registration OPENS on January 22.  New entries are due by 5:00 PM, Monday, February 19th.  Fees owed will be fixed at that time.  Questions?  Please do not hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience.
