Welcome to the 2018 Mountain Brook High School Betty Gunn Invitational. We will continue to offer novice and varsity divisions in Lincoln-Douglas and Public Forum debate, as long as the entries can sustain them. We will also offer individual event competitions in Original Oratory, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Extemp, Impromptu Speaking, Prose Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, and Duo Interp, Program Oral Interp, and Informative Speaking.  Students may enter multiple individual events from either our Friday flight A-IE events and our Saturday-only flight B-IE events, but not in both debate and IE.  If the numbers don't qualify separate novice and varisty divisions, pools will be collapsed.

Keeping tradition, our tournament is proud to offer our traditional travelling trophy to our overall sweepstakes champion team. The Sweepstakes Trophy will be awarded at the earliest possible time and sent to the appropriate coach accordingly. 

Registration costs include meals for your students throughout the tournament.  Each student will have one full dinner on Friday evening, a breakfast on Saturday morning, and a lunch Saturday, plus some heavy snacks AND pizza during elimination rounds for those still present post awards ceremonies. 

We will also sell snacks and drinks at low prices for your students to enjoy!  Meanwhile, judges and coaches may join us in our hospitality lounge for dinner Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and refreshments and snacks throughout the entire tournament!
