Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Lincoln Speech & Debate Team, I invite you and your team to the fourth annual Rose City Round Robin at our downtown Portland campus on February 22-24, 2018. This tournament will take place after school on Thursday and Friday and all day Saturday.

Events offered will be The Big Question Debate and Student Congressional Debate on Thursday afternoon/evening, Lincoln-Douglas and Public Forum Debate on Friday afterschool/evening and Policy and Parli Debate all day Saturday.  Students are welcome to compete one, two or all three days but may only compete in one debate form each day.  Only open division is available.  LD, PF, Policy, Parli  & Big Question Debate will be hosted in the round robin style.  The dress standard for this tournament for all debate forms is casual.

We hope that you and your team choose to attend, and we aim to provide an opportunity for debaters to hone their skills prior to National Qualifiers and districts/state with three preliminary rounds in BQD, four preliminary rounds in LD & PF and five preliminary rounds in Policy & Parli Debate.  Therefore, Lincoln-Douglas will use the March-April topic and Public Forum will use the March topic.  Policy Debate will use the 2017-18 Resolution. Finally, in Parli Debate there shall be three resolutions per round on news items within the 2017-18 school year. One resolution shall be a policy resolution, one resolution shall be a value resolution and the third resolution may be either a value or a policy resolution. The Student Congress and Big Question Debate will follow the format set forth in the following pages.
