JPIIHS Middle School Speech and Debate Tournament

Dear Colleagues,

This is your invitation to attend the first JPIIHS Middle School Tournament on Saturday, January 13, 2018. We will be offering all Middle School Speech events as well as Public Forum Debate.

Please take a look at the schedule and try to plan accordingly. Students may cross enter in two speech events per section. Students who are in debate may not cross enter into speech events. We will try to keep on schedule and should be able to do so. We want students to get as much feedback and chances to compete as possible. We will offer lots of rounds to competitors.

We will have an awards ceremony after all rounds are completed. All finalists will receive an award. All first, second and third place winners will receive a trophy. There will also be team trophies for first and second place overall. Teams will receive one point for being a finalist, two points for fourth, four points for third, six points for second, and eight points for first place finishes.

All competitors and judges names should be emailed to kevinsteinberg@johnpauliihs.org and will get a response back within 48 hours but most likely sooner. All entries should be entered by Tuesday, October 31. In case the tournament fills up, I would encourage you to register ASAP.

All events will be 5 dollars per contestant. We ask that you bring 1 judge for every 4 competitors OR you may pay 50 dollars per judging slot that does not get filled. All checks should be mailed/brought to the tournament and made out to John Paul II High School.
