Dear Teacher/Coach:

You and your team are invited to the La Reina High School Debate Scrimmage in Thousand Oaks, CA on Saturday, December 2, 2017.  The tourney is open to all middle and high school students and is designed to help new and continuing programs compete in a supportive and educational environment.  We will be offering four rounds in Lincoln-Douglas, 2 Person Parliamentary and Public Forum debate formats in two divisions: open and novice.   Entries at $10 per LD, Parli team or PoFo team.  We have limited judges for hire at $50 each.  One hired judge covers 2 LDs or 2 PoFo teams or 2 Parli teams.

We hope to be done by 4pm that afternoon.  Local Ventura County schools interested in attending but without an established program are welcome to contact La Reina HS for educational support and student coaching.

We’ll be using the November/December Lincoln Douglas topic and the November Public Forum topic plus 2 person CHSSA style Parliamentary debate.  Novice debaters are those in their first year of competition without having advanced to elimination rounds at a prior tournament.
