Fullerton College invites you to the

2017 Fullerton College Classic

You’re invited to the October 20 & 21^st to Fullerton College for a full-service speech and debate tournament.  On Friday we offer Individual Events and on Saturday, Policy & NPDA Debate.

Events Offered

Individual Events – Friday

Pattern A: Extemp, Informative, Poetry, Prose, Speech to Entertain (Open & Novice)

Pattern B: Dramatic Interp, DUO, Impromptu, Persuasion, Programmed Oral Interp (Open & Novice)

*Entry Limitations – Open limited to double entry per pattern. Novice limited to single entry per pattern. 

Debate Events – Saturday

Policy Debate (JV, Novice, Rookie *1^st tournament Only See Below)

NPDA Parliamentary Debate (JV, Novice)

Entry Fees:

Individual Events: $5 per entry

Debate: $10 per team

Entry deadline October 17th.  Online Drop deadline:  Oct 19^th, 10 PM.  Drops passed the deadline will incur the same fee as an entry fee.

Entry fees are minimal to encourage participation. If your school will struggle, please contact Jeff Samano and I am sure something can be worked out. 

Judging

Each school should supply one judge per two teams.  Uncovered units of judging are 3x the entry fee per round (Debate $90 a team, etc.) -- we would rather you cover your judging than find judges or fine you.   Individual events should provide 1 judge for up to 5 entries. 

Rookie Policy Debate

Rookie Policy Debate will follow a 5-3-3 structure with 5 minutes of prep per team. Rookie policy debate will be limited to the evidence packet attached on tabroom.com. These rules DO NOT apply to Novice or JV policy debate. Rookie division eligibility: Students should be in the 1^st year of competitive forensics & have no prior policy debate experience.

3. Team awards will be given to the top 5 teams in each division.   
4. Speaker awards will be given to the top 5 individual debaters in each division. 

PARKING at Fullerton College

We will supply free parking passes during registration. They will be good for Friday and Saturday. Fullerton College does ticket on the weekend and we cannot waive your ticket if you are cited.

57 Freeway North
1.    Exit the freeway at the Chapman Avenue exit. Note: There are two exits on this stretch of freeway called "Chapman Avenue". The exit you will want to take is North of the 91 Freeway.
2.    Turn left and proceed approximately 2 miles to the West.
3.    Turn right on North Lemon Blvd and proceed approximately 200 yards to our parking structure and turn right into the parking facility.

57 Freeway South

1.    Exit the freeway at the Lemon exit.
2.    Turn left and proceed approximately 2.5 miles to the North.

91 Freeway West
1.    Exit the freeway at the Lemon exit.
2.    Turn right and proceed approximately 2.5 miles to the North

3.    When you have passed Chapman Avenue, proceed approximately 200 yards to our parking structure and turn right into the parking facility.

Fullerton College is approximately one hour from LAX, and 30-minutes from John Wayne Airport (SNA)

Direction from LAX: 
1.   Go South on Sepulveda Blvd. (2 miles)
2.   Merge and continue onto 105 East Freeway (34 miles)
3.   Merge and continue on 605 South Freeway (2.5 miles)
4.   Merge and continue on 91 Freeway East (11 miles)
5.   Exit Lemon Avenue and continue north until you arrive at Fullerton College (2 Miles)

Directions from John Wayne Airport (SNA):
1.    Go North on MacArthur Blvd and merge onto 55 Freeway (2 miles)
2.    Take 55 Freeway North (17 miles)
3.    Marge and continue on 91 West (5 miles)
4.    Exit Lemon Avenue and continue north until you arrive at Fullerton College (2 Miles)
