Anoka High School Debate Tournament

The Anoka High School debate team is excited to host a debate tournament for Public Forum, Lincoln­Douglas, and Congress on Saturday, October 1st, 2016.
 
RESOLUTIONS AND AWARDS
Public Forum will debate the October NFL Resolution for five rounds, and will have awards for the top five speakers in Novice, JV, and Open/Varsity as numbers allow, and the top five debate teams in Novice, JV, and Open/Varsity as numbers allow. 
 
Lincoln­Douglas will debate the September/October NFL resolution for five rounds, and will have awards for the top five speakers in Novice, JV, and Open/Varsity as numbers allow, and the top five debaters in Novice, JV, and Open/Varsity as numbers allow. 
 
Congressional Debate will observe NFL rules for two sessions, and will have awards for the top six debaters.  Schools entered in Congressional Debate will receive legislation packets no later than September 26th (same legislation as Rosemount’s tournament).  When registering, please indicate the experience level of each congressional debater.
 
SCHEDULE INFO
Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. and runs through 8:15 a.m., with the first round or session beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Awards are tentatively scheduled for 3:30pm.
 
Please make sure your bus arrives by 8:15 so we can run schedules at 8:20.  If you would like to call in your registration on the morning of, please call Lucia (Loo­sha) Martin at 612­802­5474.
 
FOOD
Teams can order pizzas for lunch through <tinyurl.com/AnokaPizza> @ $8 each, DUE BY 5:00 ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 28th.  Other concessions will be available throughout the day.  A judge’s lounge will be available in the cafeteria.
Pizzas can be paid for in cash, or in a check made out to Anoka High School Debate Team.
 
REGISTRATION
The cost of registration is $15 for each Public Forum team, $10 for each LD debater, and $5 for each Congressional debater. You must provide one judge for every 2 PF teams or fraction thereof.  You must provide one judge for every 2 LD debaters or fraction thereof.  You must provide one judge for judge/scorer/parliamentarian for each 6 congressional debaters or fraction thereof.  Schools arriving without the appropriate number of judges will have to reduce their entries.  The tournament host will not be able to provide judges.
