Dear Granite District Coaches,

Welcome to our first novice tournament of the year!  This tournament offers two rounds of novice Policy debate, and three rounds of Public Forum, Lincoln Douglas, and SPAR debate.  There will be two sessions of Congressional Debate as well.  Policy, Lincoln Douglas, and Public Forum will use the NSDA assigned topics for October.  SPAR will have one round of "silly" topics and two rounds of extemp style topics.  Students can prepare for the more serious topics by researching with the extemporaneous speakers and reading current events.  The Congressional Debate docket is selected from the September 2016 legislation on the UDCA website and can be found on this website.

We'd like to start as close to 3:30 as possible and finish with awards around 8:00 p.m.  Please bring your Varsity students to judge so that we can single flight.
