Invitational Speech Tournament

Dear Friends,

You are cordially invited to the 4th Annual Screamin' Eagles Speech Tournament on Saturday, October 17, 2020.   Our goal is to give your students a good opportunity to perform in the quickest possible manner.

This tournament is open to all high school degree-granting institutions.  

We are NOT accepting independent entries 

We will offer three rounds and a final in all California H.S. speech events: Oratory, Informative, Advocacy, Extemp, Impromptu, Drama, Humor, POI, OPP, Oratorical and Duo in both Varsity and Novice Divisions.

A NOVICE student is any competitor in their first year of high school speech competition.

This tournament will be **LIVE** on NSDA Campus…except DUO will be a recorded event.  More info about Duo to come soon.

ADULT COACH/COACH  Each team must have a school approved adult coach/chaperone available for immediate contact throughout the tournament.

SCHOOL VERIFICATION:  Every school entering that is NOT a member of the Southern California Debate League (SCDL) must submit the School Verification form - located on the right side of this page - by to October 12^th or risk having their entire entry dropped.

JUDGES: Schools are required to bring 1 judge for every 5 entries or fraction thereof. 

TIMES:   All times listed are PST (Los Angeles Time / 3 hours behind New York).  Please plan accordingly.

SCHEDULE:   All events run at the same time

Round 1         8am

Round 2      10am  

Round 3      12pm   

Finals              3pm

FEES:  Each entry (including Duo) is $10.    Fees will be frozen at 3pm (PST) on Monday, October 12th

Credit Card payment will be accepted but will incur an additional 3% fee

More info on credit card payments will be posted after September 18^th.

REGISTRATION will begin at 7:15 A.M. and end at 7:45A.M. by the adult coach/chaperone listed.

AWARDS  Ribbons will be given to the top 6 entries in each event, each division and mailed to coaches at the finalists’ schools.

4 p.m.  FRIDAY,  October 9 2020.  (PST / L.A. Time)

Drops/Name changes can be made on the website until Monday, Oct 12^th @ 3pm

Fees are frozen at 3pm on Monday, Oct. 12th
