The 2019 Blizzard Blitz is co-hosted by Ronald Reagan College Prep and La Crosse Central High School. The tournament is sanctioned by both the WDCA and the MDL. The tournament will offer public forum, Lincoln Douglas, varsity policy and novice policy. Students can debate as mavericks (by themselves) and win.

Judge Obligations:

1 judge per 2 VCX/NCX/LD/PF entries or any fraction thereof.

1 judge may cover 1 LD and 1 PF entry. We will assume the judge can judge both LD and PF unless specified otherwise.

Registration:

The registration deadline is WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18TH AT 11:30 PM. Registration fees are locked as of December 18th at 11:30 pm. Nuisance and drop fees will apply to any changes (e.g. late registrations, drops, etc.) made after this time.

You are able to change names and drop entries until Friday, December 20th at 11:30 PM.

If you do not bring the required number of judges, the tournament reserves the right to charge you $100 per missing judge or de-register your teams until you have judges to cover your judge obligation. We will do our best to have extra judges, but you should expect few - if any - extra judges available.

Food:

Lunch will be provided for both students and judges. Lunch is free to MDL member schools. Please communicate any dietary restrictions as soon as possible.

Debate Divisions:

Novice Policy will follow the WDCA Standing Rules for novice policy debate. Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum will debate the November / December topic.

Decision Time:

The tournament will do everything possible to adhere strictly to the above schedule. To help achieve that goal, decision timers will be used for all events. Judges using a paper ballot should report directly to their rounds - not to the Tabroom. Student runners will be on site to distribute any paper ballots to the rooms. The student runners will collect all paper ballots - do not bring the ballot to Tabroom.

Policy Judges: You will have 1 hour and 50 minutes to enter your ballot online (if you are using Tabroom balloting) or turn your paper ballot into a student runner posted in your hall.

LD/PF Judges: You will have 1 hour to enter your ballot online (if you are using Tabroom balloting) or turn your paper ballot into a student runner posted in your hall.

Parking & Drop-Off:

The school entrance is at 4965 S 20th Street. Enter through the main school entrance. Entry will not be permitted at any other doors.

Buses:

Drop off on 20th Street in front of the school

Buses should NOT enter the staff parking lot.

Cars & Vans:

You can park in the staff parking lot. The entrance to the staff parking lot is on 20th Street.

MDL Teams:

If your school is a member of the MDL, your students will receive a free lunch, and your Novice Policy and Varsity Policy entry fees will be discounted.
