November PCFL at CR North

2019 — Newtown, PA/US

We are excited to see you in November for our third PCFL of the season. Thank you to Mr. James Briski and his team for hosting! Registration is open here. A few notes about this tournament-- this will again be an opportunity for double entry. I have included the patterns for flights below. Because of the length of the rounds, students in Congress and CX will not be able to double enter.

The non-PCFL events being offered at this tournament are impromptu, POI, extemp debate and parli. We will be following NSDA rules for Impromptu, POI and Extemp debate and will be following PHSSL rules for Parli. To help with judge burdens for schools wanting to try these events, entries in Extemp Debate will share the same pool as Public Forum. Entries in Parli will share the same pool as LD. You are allowed to double enter judges across the LD and PF pool, if you would like.

Please note that the registration deadline for this tournament is on Wednesday, November 13th.

New Tournament Waitlist Protocol:

In an effort to try to allow for tournaments to expand when possible, we will be allowing schools to put any entries over 4 in a specific event on a waitlist. I have included the details on these entry limits below.

Entry limits: 4 per school per event guaranteed entry. Schools may place additional entries on the waitlist - and must enter judges to cover those entries. At the close of registration (Wednesday before a Saturday tournament), the tournament director will notify schools whether there are enough rooms to allow those entries off the waitlist.

If there are not enough rooms to accept all waitlisted entries, the tournament director will randomly draw for which events will expand and, if necessary, have a random draw to determine which entries will be allowed off the waitlist in those events. In the event that some entries are not allowed off the waitlist, schools will be allowed 24 hours to remove judges who are no longer needed OR move those waitlisted students to another category where the school has not filled up to 4 entries.

LD: Resolved: The United States ought to eliminate subsidies for fossil fuels.
CX: Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce Direct Commercial Sales and/or Foreign Military Sales of arms from the United States.
