Speech Events: Registration opens 1/8/2020 at 8am

Congress Events: Registration opens 1/21/2020 at 8am

Debate Events: Registration opens 1/22/2020 at 8am

Speech and Debate will follow Pilot Rules( and numbers of entries and qualifiers can also be found here): https://www.speechanddebate.org/wp-content/uploads/District-Tournament-Pilot-Manual-2019-2020.pdf

Congress will run as normal. Legislation may be submitted to Tanya Roundy by Jan 25 for consideration to be on the docket. Other legislation will then come from the NSDA January Docket https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AaPOpmfgadE45OvZ90gYUN3dQ-cUI1a6/view?usp=sharing

Students may double enter (either 2 in Speech, or 1 in Speech, 1 in Debate/Congress, and may triple enter only if their third event is Congress) So, it could be triple enter with 2 speech/ Congress, Speech/Debate/Congress.

Your strength determines how many entries you have for each type of event....please ask me if you need help understanding that better...

Speech Events:

Oratory/Informatives: Copy of Speech with Bibliography is required to turn in. You can email me, share it to me on docs, and/or bring a hard copy.

Interps: Must have original source--book hard copy, online link (please see the accepted sources and requirements on speechanddebate.org https://www.speechanddebate.org/approved-websites/

They must also have a document with the script how it is completed, and copies of the pages from the text highlighted, changes written in, and in order of how they are used. (IE if a student uses the same chorus from a song in between transitions in POI, they should copy that same page and highlight it and put it in between each section wherever itis seen, or if they do their interp selections out of order of the original format they should put them in that order).

Debate and Congress must follow all Evidence Rules https://www.speechanddebate.org/debate-evidence-guide/

Internet rules will also be used.

If you have further questions, please let me know.
