Dear Colleagues, Students, and Families,

On behalf of the Longhorn Speech and Debate team, Legacy High School is pleased to invite you all to the 2019 Novice Only Tournament.  This is a one-day only tournament that will take place on November 2nd. The rounds for this tournament are going to be different than we have had in the past.  

In order to allow students to get the most practice, IEs will be held in the morning, and Debate will be held in the afternoon. Students may double-enter in IEs, except for Extemp, and there will be three preset rounds. Students will be able to enter one Debate event. If we are able to single-flight PF and LD, novices will receive 3 rounds in each (2 if we need to double-flight), 2 rounds in Policy, or 1 Round in Congress. The schedule is posted in the Schedule tab beside this invitation.

All Entries will be $8.00 per student ($16 for PF or Duo) will be assessed. An awards assembly will end the tournament, however we will only have awards for competitors. No school sweepstakes awards will be given. Coaches will be expected to be on campus with their teams, work the tournament, judge rounds and Parli Congress rounds.
