18th Annual Jimmy K. Poole Viking Classic

Dear Fellow Coaches,

North Mecklenburg High School is pleased to once again host the annual Jimmy K. Poole “Viking Classic”. The tournament will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020.

As is our tradition, the tournament will be regular open competition but is also "novice friendly".  Besides the usual novice PFD, LD & Congress, we have additional novice categories in speech events. We will offer novice speech events but reserve the right to collapse a novice division into the open category if there are insufficient entries. If that happens, a 'best novice' award will be given. As a reminder, Declamation is for freshmen and sophomores only.

Awards will be in the form of certificates this year in order to keep your registration costs low and allow us to mail them to schools as quickly as possible.
