Dear Forensics Coach:
The Brainerd High School Debate Team invites you and your debaters to participate in the Second Rural Debate League Tournament on Thursday, October 25th. It will be held at Brainerd High School, 702 South 5th Street, Brainerd, MN 56401.
We will have LD, PF and Congress. The legislation is on Tabroom.
Novice PF will debate:
Resolved: The United States should accede to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea without reservations.
Novice LD:
Resolved: Civil disobedience in a democracy is morally justified.
Open PF:
Resolved: The United States federal government should impose price controls on the pharmaceutical industry.
Open LD:
Resolved: In a democracy, the public’s right to know ought to be valued above the right to privacy of candidates for public office.

Tentative Schedule:
Registration 3:15 – 3:35 PM
Round I – 3:40
Round II – 4:30
Round III – 5:20
Break - 6:00
Round IV – 6:30
RESULTS – 7:30
Meals: You are responsible for feeding your students. We will try to have a break from 6:00-6:30.
The pizzas are $8.00 per pizza rate with a $2.50 delivery fee.
Judges: We will have judges for hire for $60.00 per judge but we need as much advance notice as possible. We hope to have plenty of judges for hire, but let us know as soon as possible so that we are able to cover the necessary judge slots. If we do not have enough judges, we may have to collapse teams; two teams will then become one team for the competition that day.
