Dear Coaches and Competitors,

The Golden Desert Speech and Debate League, and its coaches, would like to invite you to the annual Golden Desert Individual Events Invitational to be held Friday, November 9 & Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Foothill HS is located at in Henderson NV, at 800 College Way, NV 89149.  

This is an NIETOC Qualifying Tournament in all Interp main-event IEs. (*Bid requirements on the NIETOC Qualifications tab)  This will be a paneled tournament. Students are able to double enter in both panels, with the exception of FX in Panel B due to time constraints on Saturday, FX extemp competitors may only compete in that event for panel B.  

 The panels are as follows: 

 Panel A: Oratory, Domestic Extemp , Impromptu, Duo Interpretation, POI (Program Oral Interpretation) 

Panel B: Informative Speaking, Foreign Extemp, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, 

 We will be hosting three rounds of Panel A on Friday, night and three rounds of Panel B on Saturday morning. Â Quarter-Final, Semi-Final and Final rounds will be held on Saturday afternoon due to entry limit. There will be awards based on Friday and Saturday results.  All IE events will be offered as Open in NIETOC qualifying events and Varisty/Novice in all other main events.

The important dates for this tournament are as follows:

Entries due:  Wednesday, November 7th @ 3 PM

Fees Finalized: Wednesday, November 7th @ 3PM

Final Add/Drops: Thursday, November 8th @ 3PM

Drops after the deadline: $10 per entry(we would rather have a substitute than a drop)

Uncovered judges fees $20 per round  *Teams are responsible for 1 judge per every 5 entries in IEs
