Poudre High School’s Kyle Doyle Novice Memorial Tournament

Dear Forensic Coaches,

Kyle Doyle, Poudre alumni and forensics coach tragically lost his life in a car accident in June of 2011. In his honor and memory, the Poudre High School Forensics team cordially invites you and your team to participate in the Annual Kyle Doyle Memorial Tournament on October 20, 2018.  We hope you'll be able to join us.

EVENTS OFFERED:

Debates: Policy, Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, Congress, Big Questions, 

Speech: Oratory, Poetry, Humor, Drama, Duo, Extemporaneous, POI

Schedule: 

7:30- 8:30 – Registration

8:30- 10:30 – Round 1

10:30- 12:00- Round 2

12:00- 12:30- Lunch Break

12:30- 2:00 – Round 3

2:20- 3:50- Finals where warranted

Awards to follow as quickly as possible. 

RULES:

·         Finals for all events will begin ASAP following the completion of preliminary rounds

·         Legislation for congress will be provided and emailed out to teams as they register.

·         Poudre High School is a non-smoking campus.

·         Novices will be defined as a competitor that is in their first year of high school competition. If they have competed in a previous year they are only eligible to judge and entries found not meeting this will be disqualified.

JUDGING:  Please bring 1 varsity member for every 5 individual entries and 1 varsity member for every 2 person entry. We will attempt to use all varsity judges before having adults judge rounds.

FEES:  Registration costs are $6 per events entries, CX, PF, and Duo are $12, $5 for Congress. Fees must be paid according to pre-registration entry numbers as of October 17th, but please try to pre-register by the 15th.  Make checks payable to Poudre High School Forensics.

FOOD:  Pizza will be provided served to coaches, varsity and adult judges for lunch. In addition snacks will be provided throughout the day. A concession stand in the commons area will serve pizza and snacks.  Only one convenient store is within walking distance of the school, no restaurants (5-10 minutes).

PLEASE PHONE IN DROPS AND LATE ARRIVALS!  To start the tournament on time, we ask that you inform us of your drops by 7:30 am on the day of the tournament.  You may do so by either arriving at the tournament before then or phoning it in.  This will allow us to schedule much more quickly and get the first round off as close to 8:00 as possible (or before).

LOCATION:  PHS is located north of Mulberry right past Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins. 

From I-25:  Take the Mulberry exit west past Taft Hill Road to Impala Dr.  Turn right (north) on Impala Drive and turn into the parking lot.
