Dear Colleagues,

      The Caddo Parish Magnet H.S. Debate Team cordially invites you and your students to attend the 34th Annual Mustang Classic Debate Tournament to be held on Saturday, September 22nd at Caddo Parish Magnet High School. All events with 6 entries will qualify for the LHSSL Tournament of Champions.  Awards will be presented to all students who place high enough to receive a bid to state.

Please note that our price per entry is higher than the LHSSL standard $6 per person. Team events will be $20 and individual events $10. Please make sure you check to verify your total amount due on Tabroom.com

This year as part of an attempt to make NCX debate more accessible, we will be requesting that all coaches disclose their NCX argument list for this tournament. We believe that as part of the best educational practice, novice debates at the beginning of the year should focus on form rather than argument. Students who have mastered the CX fundamentals and do not need to practice form, are welcome to enter the ACX division. There will be no such requirement for ACX entries. Coaches will find a tab on the side menu that lead you to a google form. All information will then be disclosed after the drop deadline to any registered schools. 

Finally, please note the entry deadlines/ fees. Entries will be due the Monday before the tournament. Drops and judge information should be entered by the end of the day Wednesday to avoid fines. Judges will need to be entered by name. If you have judges who have time constraints, please note their availability in the description box. We will be utilizing online balloting whenever possible, so please encourage your judges to sign up a for a tabroom account.  This will allow judges to receive alerts when they have a ballot and allow us to run the tournament faster and more efficiently. Debaters in the junior year of high school and 3rd year of competition are eligible to fulfill judging obligations.
