The Tiger’s Eye Classic tournament will take place on Friday, October 5th and Saturday, October 6th.  We will be located in both buildings this year.   We will have trophies for finalists in High School, Junior High divisions will receive medals and certificates,  and sweepstakes trophies presented in all divisions.

Deadline for entries will be FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th  by 4:00pm. After this time, drops and adds will need to be emailed directly to Rachel Mauchline at above email address and you will be charged a drop/add fee. There will be a $10 fee for every add or drop to your entries/judges after this date. REMINDER: 1 Judge Per 10 IE Entries. 1 Judge Per 10 JH Debate Entries. 1 Judge Per 4 HS Debate Entries. 1 Judge Per 10 Congress Entries. There will be $10 fee for every judge you fail to provide.  Judges are ALWAYS a problem, so we will be grateful for any “extra” judges you can bring! Entries may be limited for schools that do not provide the required number of judges. Please state any times your judges are unavailable on Tabroom with your registration. If your judge’s time commitment changes, please contact bboxhigdem@bentonvillek12.org and rachelmauchline@gmail.com

Students may enter multiple events in a given round, but double entered policies must be followed, and rounds will not be held late to accommodate students with multiple entries.  Students may only enter one debate event and debate students will not be able to compete in Pattern A individual events. Refunds will not be granted if students miss rounds due to multiple entries.

We will be using Tabroom for registration and tabulation purposes! Tabroom will have public access to tournament-related documents, pairings, and results for the tournament. In order to register, go to www.tabroom.com and click either “login” if you have utilized this website before or “signup” if you have never previously used this site. You may either sign up with a separate account or use your NSDA login to create an account. The attached link will give step by step instructions for setting up Tabroom prior to registering: http://docs.tabroom.com/Registration The BHS Tigers Eye Tournament will be located at http://bhstigerseye.tabroom.com Simply click on “Registration” and you should be able to follow the steps to completing tournament registration. If you have any questions or concerns about Tabroom, please contact rachelmauchline@gmail.com

Because of the Arkansas vs. Alabama football game the same weekend, hotel space is very tight throughout the area. We have been fortunate to have an individual  willing to help coaches find hotel blocks by using the following contact information:

Nicki Unruh

Manager, Global Accounts

TEL: 479.970.9364

nunruh@HelmsBriscoe.com

Please contact this individual to receive assistance on your hotel reservations as quickly as possible instead of stressing finding rooms at such as busy time of year for the Razorback football season. The quicker the better!!!!

***NEW THIS YEAR: Our Band program is hosting a Marching Band Invitational on Saturday October 6th in our stadium. Please pay CLOSE attention to the attached map for parking/ drop-off/ pick-up sites. School buses will not be able to park on site Saturday to allow for the large quantities of judges arriving to assist us with tournament duties. Please have your buses park back at your hotel or in the location marked on the map. Remember this is for SATURDAY ONLY. PLease pay close attention to the new PICK-UP area for after our awards presentation.

***ALSO NEW THIS YEAR: We have added a FUN event for all of us to try. It is called Dramatic Song Lyric Interpretation (DSL). It is a spoken event and is created much like POI. It is a black book event, 4-6 minutes in length, movement is encouraged and is created by melding song lyrics together on a theme. Must include an intro stating songs and lyricists. Costuming is not allowed sadly.  We will have both junior high and varsity divisions. High School Finals will be held on the main stage between Saturday’s group events. Junior High DSL will be held in the Choir rooms. This event will not count towards sweepstakes points but is meant to be fun!!!! Cost is $10 per entry and will include SUPER COOL trophies. You may register ahead of time or as a consolation event until 11:59 pm Friday evening for the Saturday competition.

***NOTE: Because of numbers of entries for our Extemporaneous Speaking event, we have decided to combine Extemp. The event will be run as follows: Round 1: Domestic Extemp/ Round 2: International Extemp/ Semis: Domestic Extemp/ Finals: International Extemp. This will be for both divisions. Should numbers force us to go straight to finals, a hybrid topic will be created to use for finals.

***NOTE: For our transgender students, we provide a gender-neutral bathroom in both buildings. Our gender-neutral bathroom in the South building will be located right outside of our Media  Center, Room A 105. In our North Building, our gender neutral bathroom is our faculty/staff bathroom located on the first floor just down the hallway from our Lecture Hall. Also, if anyone needs handicap accessible rooms, please reach out to us! We most certainly can provide you with these! Our campus is very easy to navigate via elevators, etc. But want to make sure everyone’s tournament experience is as awesome as it can be!

Our schedule does not allow for a break, so we provide an amazing concession stand!  We ask that you please help support our program by eating from the concession stand we provide rather than bringing outside food into our buildings.  This is our ONLY fundraiser for our tournament season and can use everybody’s help in this!!! Please inform your students AND parents of this request.  Let us know if you need vegetarian or gluten-free options...we are working on providing this for our competitors this year...more soon!!

Please arrive at our campus for registration between 4:15 and 4:45  and drop your students off in the back parking lots behind the Arend Arts Center. Our school releases at 3:55. We have bus drivers who have to evacuate our campus around 4:15 taking our 4,000 students home.  On Friday: Bus drivers are encouraged NOT to use the main entrance to our campus but the other one farther down “J” street. Registration in the South Commons will be between 4:15 and 5:00.  Registration will open again on Saturday morning at 7:30 am. Traffic can be a headache, so please allow enough time to arrive on campus in time for your first events, which will begin promptly at 4:45.

Please review the new TOC Qualifying tournament guidelines for the 2018-2019 school year at www.ACTAA.net.  Please also keep in mind that Bentonville Public Schools will not grant Wi-Fi access to guests.  The attached schedule is tentative.

Thanks,
