Event Description:

Student Congress:

Students will participate in a chamber led by a high school student as presiding officer in which speakers are called upon to present 2-minute speeches in affirmation and negation of the legislation.  There will be a mandatory one-minute questioning period following the authorship speech and the first negative; after every other speech, there will be a mandatory 30-second questioning period. Students are encouraged but not required to submit legislation to compete; if they choose to, they may do so by emailing bills to dicolandrea@achievementfirst.org by Wednesday, May 17.  Legislation for the next session will be posted on tabroom.com two weeks before the tournament so that they can prepare.
