Event Description:
Extemp Commentary is a limited Preparation event in which students are given a topic area and 30 minutes of prep time to create a coherent, well thought out 'commentary.' Topics can range from political to pop culture, and students are encouraged to present their concept of the idea along with their opinion.
Commentary timing is 30 minutes of prep time to present a 5 minute speech.
Limited Notes are allowed by the speaker, and it is the judge's discretion whether or not to value memorized students over those on notes.
The use of the internet during prep time is permitted.
