Event Description:
Dramatic Interpretation (DI) and Humorous Interpretation (HI). The student is to present a memorized selection of not more than ten minutes from a published work of literature. A short introduction should be included. Most, but not all, cuttings are from plays. Monologues are acceptable, but many presentations will have multiple characters. Content: material should be appropriate to the student and audience and worthy of study. Delivery: if multiple characters are presented, each character should be made distinct through voice, body, and focus. Ideally, the audience shou1d be caught up in the performance and involved in what is happening.
