NYCUDL Middle School Tournament 1
2019 — New York, NY/US
Text of message
Hi all! Taylor here. Just a few reminders for our upcoming tournament:
1. Don't forget to add your teams. The deadline is 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
2. Don't forget to register your judges. Previously judges needed an associate Tabroom account to register, but I changed that setting, so you should be able to register judges who don't have an account. If you're having trouble recruiting, three good places to look are: 1) parents; 2) other teachers; 3) alumni. We're asking that you bring one judge per every three teams. We should be able to run the tournament smoothly (and not have to double-flight!) with that amount of judging. If you're having trouble, please let me know. If you don't fulfill your judging commitment, and don't contact me about it beforehand, there's a chance some of your teams might not be able to debate.
3) Divisions. A quick breakdown: Beginners is for new coaches with new debaters. Novice is for experienced coaches with new debaters. Intermediate is for debaters who've been debating for a year. Open is for debaters who've been debating for two or more years. I know it can be a little confusing, but the point is to make sure that everyone is properly challenged and no one is forced to debate teams with way more experience than they have. I'll be looking through the divisions later this week and moving teams around as necessary.
That's all. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!-----------------------------
